Job Description: Billing Engineer

Position: Billing Engineer

Experience: Minimum 5 Years in Billing

Roles and Responsibilities:

BOQ Verification and Compliance:

• Validate BOQ against drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
• Ensure BOQ alignment with the project scope; identify discrepancies or missing items.

Coordination with Site Engineers and Teams:

• Collect data from site engineers for billing and provide guidance on capturing measurements.
• Ensure smooth data flow between site and billing teams to avoid billing delays.

Measurement Sheet Preparation and BBS:

• Prepare measurement sheets for all activities, including:

• Roads, RCC structures, tanks, and bridges.

• Kerbstones, paver blocks, and footpaths.

• SWD, utilities, brickwork, and plastering.

• Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and coordinate approvals with clients.

Joint Measurements and Client Coordination:

• Conduct joint measurements with clients and maintain sign-offs for records.
• Handle any billing disputes or discrepancies with the client.

Preparation and Submission of RA Bills:

• Prepare RA bills based on progress and approved measurements.
• Cross-check quantities before submission and follow up for client approvals.

Change Orders and Quantity Amendments:

• Document changes in scope and update quantities in real-time.
• Prepare amended bills and submit change orders with supporting documents.

Monitoring and Payment Follow-ups:

• Track billing schedules to ensure alignment with project cash flow.
• Coordinate with finance teams for payment reconciliation and follow-ups.

Work Progress and Productivity Monitoring:

• Align billing with on-site progress and monitor productivity discrepancies.
• Audit bills to prevent errors and ensure compliance with contracts and drawings.

Software and Reporting:

• Use ERP systems and MS Excel for billing and reporting.
• Generate monthly/quarterly reports on billing status and cash flow projections.

Training and Mentorship:

• Train junior engineers on billing processes and formats.

Preferred candidate profile

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and billing software.
• Expertise in BOQ analysis, quantity measurement, BBS preparation, and client coordination.
• Strong negotiation and coordination skills, with knowledge of civil works.
