The Opportunity:

UST is looking for System Administrator

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systems in lab environments.

• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

• Perform OS patching, driver/firmware updates, and security compliance tasks.

• Configure and manage virtualized environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker/Kubernetes).

• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network connectivity issues in a lab setup.

• Automate routine sysadmin tasks using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts.

• Maintain system health monitoring dashboards and logs (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar). Support backup, recovery, and data management procedures.

• Collaborate with lab support, validation, and IT teams to ensure smooth operations.

• Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and inventory records.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server administration.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall basics. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker).

• Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

• Experience with configuration/automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar) preferred.

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in multi-platform environments.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualification:

• bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics, IT, or related field.

• 3–5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator in IT infrastructure or lab environments.

• Relevant certifications (Linux+, RHCE, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware) are desirable
