Endoscopy Technician

Job Description:

• Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, gastroscopy, bronchoscopy).
• Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment (scopes, processors, suction machines).
• Perform high-level disinfection and sterilization of scopes and accessories.
• Set up procedure rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Monitor and record patient vitals during procedures (if trained).
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy during preparation and recovery.
• Document procedures and complete electronic medical records (EMR) entries.
• Maintain inventory of consumables and order supplies as needed.
• Follow strict infection control protocols (e.g., PPE, biohazard disposal).
• Respond to emergency situations (e.g., assisting during code blue or complications).
• Transport patients to and from the endoscopy suite.
• Assist in troubleshooting and minor repairs of equipment.
