Paras Healthcare is Hiring Clinical Pharmacologist for Gurgaon Location.
The Clinical Pharmacologist will be responsible for optimizing the safe, effective, and economical use of medications across the hospital. The role involves evaluating drug therapies, guiding clinicians on evidence-based prescribing, monitoring adverse drug reactions, and ensuring compliance with hospital formulary and regulatory standards. The Clinical Pharmacologist serves as a key link between pharmacy, clinicians, and nursing teams to promote rational drug use and improve patient outcomes.
Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Support & Patient Safety
- Review and evaluate prescriptions to ensure rational drug therapy, appropriate dosing, and absence of drug interactions.
- Provide pharmacological advice to consultants and clinicians on drug selection and therapy optimization.
- Monitor and report adverse drug reactions (ADR) and coordinate with the Pharmacovigilance Committee.
- Participate in patient care rounds and clinical audits to ensure evidence-based medication use.
- Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and infection control initiatives.
2. Formulary & Policy Management
- Develop and maintain the hospital formulary in coordination with the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee (PTC).
- Review new drug requests and assess their clinical efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to hospital drug policies, NABH/NABL norms, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate drug utilization patterns and identify opportunities for cost and quality optimization.
3. Training & Education
- Conduct periodic training programs for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists on safe and rational drug use.
- Promote awareness of new drugs, treatment protocols, and adverse reaction reporting.
- Support continuing medical education (CME) and clinical meetings related to pharmacology and therapeutics.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of ADR reports, formulary updates, and drug utilization reviews.
- Prepare periodic reports for management on medication trends, compliance, and outcomes.
- Contribute to quality assurance and accreditation documentation related to medication management.
Work Conditions:
- Working Days: 6 days a week (as per hospital policy)
- Workplace: Clinical Services / Pharmacy Department
