Position: Civil Structure Draftsman

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Senior Draftsman/Engineer/Architect

Job Summary: The Civil Structure Draftsman plays a crucial role in the design and construction process by creating detailed drawings and plans for civil structures, such as buildings, bridges, dams, roads, and other infrastructure projects. They work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to transform design concepts into precise and accurate technical drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications to develop accurate and comprehensive structural drawings.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure drawings align with project requirements and design intent.
• Incorporate necessary details, dimensions, and annotations into drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Prepare accurate and well-organized technical documentation, including drawings, schedules, and material lists.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design-related issues and coordinate project requirements.
• Review and update drawings based on feedback, revisions, and changes during the construction phase.

Qualifications:

• A high school, diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or technical certification in drafting, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Civil Structure Draftsman or similar role in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software is an asset.
• Attention to detail and a strong ability to interpret and visualize architectural and engineering drawings.
