We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketplace Head - Production Fulfillment to lead end-to-end operational execution for marketplace channels. This role will be responsible for managing the NPD-to-Order Fulfillment cycle, ensuring seamless coordination between product development, production, finished goods inventory, warehousing, and dispatch.

The incumbent will act as a strategic bridge between the Marketplace Business Team and Manufacturing/Supply Chain Operations, ensuring speed, accuracy, and quality in product availability and fulfillment.

This position is ideal for a result-oriented leader with deep experience in production operations, supply chain management, and e-commerce fulfillment, with the ability to deliver operational excellence at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Fulfillment & Marketplace Operations:
  • Oversee the complete order fulfillment process for marketplace channels, from product creation to last-mile delivery readiness.
  • Ensure on-time production, quality compliance, and shipment of all marketplace SKUs based on demand plans shared by the business team.
  • Coordinate closely with the business and category teams to align operational execution with sales targets, promotions, and product launches.
  • Maintain visibility of daily fulfillment metrics, including lead times, delays, rejections, and fill rates across channels.
  • Manage SKU lifecycle, including onboarding, revisions, and discontinuation in coordination with NPD and the business team.
  • New Product Development (NPD) Integration:
  • Act as the operational owner for all NPD launches for marketplace, ensuring production readiness, packaging, labeling, and catalog compliance.
  • Partner with design, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure NPD timelines align with business launch schedules.
  • Build structured NPD-to-fulfillment workflows to shorten time-to-market for new products.
  • Provide feedback to NPD and product teams on performance, scalability, and operational challenges.
  • Finished Goods (FG) & Warehousing Management:
  • Own FG inventory planning and optimization to meet marketplace demand without overstocking.
  • Drive warehousing and distribution efficiency, ensuring stock accuracy, FIFO, and cost-effective operations.
  • Implement warehouse management KPIs - inventory accuracy, space utilization, and order dispatch efficiency.
  • Collaborate with 3PLs or internal logistics to maintain on-time dispatch and customer delivery.
  • Ensure all marketplace SLAs (dispatch timelines, packaging standards, labeling compliance) are consistently met.
  • Supply Chain & Process Optimization:
  • Manage end-to-end supply chain synchronization - raw materials, production, FG movement, and dispatch.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in production-to-market flow to improve lead time and cost per order.
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) across production units and warehouses.
  • Leverage technology tools (ERP, WMS, or OMS) for real-time tracking, visibility, and control of fulfillment operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, productivity, and service levels.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
  • Serve as the single-point operational contact for the Marketplace Business Team, ensuring business priorities are operationally feasible.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - NPD, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service - to resolve issues proactively.
  • Present regular fulfillment and operational performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and corrective actions.
  • Foster a strong partnership mindset with business leaders to support sales growth through operational excellence.

Desired Skills

  • Strong operational and analytical mindset with hands-on experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and e-commerce fulfillment.
  • Proficiency in ERP, WMS, OMS, and data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Excellent leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple product categories and large-scale operational teams.
  • Deep understanding of marketplace operations (Amazon, Flipkart, Walmart, etc.), including packaging, labeling, and SLA compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and process-improvement Education: Bachelor's in Engineering / Operations / Supply Chain / Management. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, fulfillment, or supply chain, with at least 3-5 years in a senior operations or marketplace leadership role.
