Job Description:Job Title – Lead Software Engineer (mainframe Developer)The Purpose of This RoleRequire Mainframe Developer for Software Development for Workplace investment (WI) technology team will be responsible designing and driving implementation of applications/ framework using Mainframe, this technology group provides superior development and maintenance support to the overall Fidelity WI organization.The Value You DeliverAnalyst Support and small development on platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.Involved in Application-level Analysis, Impact studyAssessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.Taking the business requirements coupled with existing architecture to set a technical vision for features and major components and clearly articulating the evolutionary steps to achieve itWorking with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or productionThe Skills that are Key to this roleMust have less than 12 yrs experience inYour knowledge in mainframe technologies like JCL, COBOL programming, CICS, DB2, ENDEVOUR.Your experience in writing stored procedure DB2/PL/SQL programming function, trigger Your experience with data base such as Oracle, Sql server, SybaseYour experience in Agile methodology and tool set such as CI/CD, GIT, Maven and JIRAYour experience in Agile methodology and tool set such as CI/CD, GIT, Maven and JIRAExposure to cloud is advantageAbility to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them.Ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose problems and generate effective solutions.Ability to build communication and rapport with partners, stakeholders.Ability to take initiative, define vision for betterment of products, and execute at high level of quality.The skills that are good to have for this roleAbility to plan and work with geographically spread-out teamsStrong presentation and interpersonal skills.Curiosity to constantly relearn/explore new processes/technologies.How your work impacts the organizationThe Workplace Investing (WI) Platform technology group within Fidelity Investments is tasked to develop and maintain of technology solutions supporting Fidelity's Defined Contribution (DC) business.
