Job Summary:

The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables within the telecom network. This role ensures the integrity and performance of fiber optic systems, supporting high-quality telecommunications services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Splicing: Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables, ensuring accurate and efficient connections.
• Installation: Install and maintain fiber optic cables, including underground and aerial cabling.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct tests to verify fiber optic connections and diagnose issues using OTDRs, power meters, and other testing equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of splicing activities, test results, and network configurations.
• Quality Control: Ensure all splicing and installation work meets industry standards and company specifications.
• Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in fiber optics is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in splicing techniques, testing procedures, and use of fiber optic tools and equipment.
