Job Title: Cutting Manager - Bed Linens (Home Textile)

Location: Karur, Tamil Nadu, India

Qualification: Any Graduation

Experience: 10 years of experience in the Home Textile industry, with at least 5 years in a Bed Linen quality management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end operations of the cutting department, including fabric inspection, spreading, laying, and cutting.
  • Supervise fabric inspection to ensure zero defects prior to cutting, as per quality and buyer standards.
  • Ensure accurate marker planning and lay planning, optimizing fabric utilization to minimize wastage.
  • Monitor cut order planning (COP) and issue cut parts to sewing lines as per production schedules.
  • Coordinate with CAD teams and pattern masters for marker making and pattern accuracy.
  • Manage manpower planning and allocate work across multiple shifts to meet production targets.
  • Supervise pattern correction, shrinkage allowance adjustments, and cutting approvals.
  • Handle sewing line coordination to ensure timely supply of cut panels.
  • Face buyer technical audits and compliance inspections with confidence, ensuring all documentation and processes are audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising, production planning (PPC), and quality teams to ensure seamless workflow from fabric in-house to stitching and finishing.
  • Implement lean practices and 5S systems within the cutting department to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain machine/equipment health in the cutting section and coordinate for preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor KPI metrics like cutting efficiency, fabric wastage, cut-to-ship ratio, and take corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure compliance with social, environmental, and safety standards as per buyer and company policies.

Preferred Background:

  • Candidates from large-scale Home Textile will be given preference.
  • Experience in the Bed Linens division is desirable.
