We are seeking an experienced engineer to join the Modern Workplace Engineering team with a focus on the Zscaler platform. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced engineering team, designing modern endpoint solutions for a dynamic and varied business in line with best practises and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Zscaler solutions, primarily focusing on ZIA.
- Collaborating with team members and members of the business to design right sized solutions alongside Zero Trust Networking principles.
- Support the wider team on incident, problem and change management of Networking related activities.
- Troubleshoot network related issues on endpoint devices in line with OSI model.
- Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results, reviewing your own work and participating in peer reviews.
- Contribute to the optimisation of engineering processes, knowledge management, and continuous learning.
- Escalate and manage issues related to product design, feature set, and functionality to ensure delivery goals are met.
- Support and mentor less experienced colleagues within the team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years maintaining the Zscaler platform, with a focus on ZIA (Zscaler Internet Access)
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with network concepts
- Experience in ZDX (Zscaler Digital Experience) and ZPA (Zscaler Private Access) highly desirable
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and related concepts.
- Significant experience in endpoint engineering, configuration, or support within a SaaS or enterprise environment advantageous.
- Strong hands-on expertise with endpoint management solutions such as Intune or JamF highly desirable
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting skills for automation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of risk-based security assessments and frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Azure, AAD/AD, Windows 365, MS Defender, SCCM and licensing.
- Associated qualifications in Zscaler such as ZDTA, ZDTE, ZDXA
- Associated qualifications in wider endpoint management such as MD-102, AZ-104
- Background in Financial Services or Pensions.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in advanced computer science or an MBA in Systems are advantageous.
- Networking related qualifications highly advantageous (CCNA, CCNP, Network+ etc)
