AMINA India is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMINA Bank AG, a licensed Swiss Bank focused in digital and traditional assets. AMINA provides custody, trading, credit and investment products exclusively to institutional and qualified investors. AMINA India acts as a virtual extension of the bank supporting activities spanning digital assets research, investment solutions, trading & liquidity management, risk management and more recently mid/back-office and IT operations.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)

We are redefining the future of financial services at the intersection of blockchain and traditional finance. As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our India office and play a pivotal role in our global legal team, supporting our operations across India, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC.

Your AMINA To-Do List

• Provide proactive legal and regulatory advice to senior management, relationship managers, and all business units, partially also in coordination with outside counsel
• Draft, structure, and negotiate legal documents such as agreements with clients and third-party service providers in a crypto environment
• Act as Legal Workstream Lead for legal and regulatory initiatives, as well as corporate matters
• Advise on innovative products and service offerings from a legal and regulatory perspective
• Draft and/or maintain legal directives, communication, marketing initiatives, standard agreements, forms, and general terms and conditions
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments across Europe, India, the Middle East, and APAC and implement the respective change projects
• Drive legal assessments and presentations for senior management regarding legal and regulatory topics
• Conduct internal trainings with respect to legal and regulatory aspects
• Ensure cooperation between the Legal and Compliance teams, e.g., on cross-border and other cross-over topics with the compliance department
• Advise the responsible stakeholders on risks and impact when performing legal duties and controls
• Review and provide content where legal input is required
• Contribute to inputs needed for regulators in any of the jurisdictions in which AMINA operates
• Contribute to audit matters, litigation, and other ad-hoc requests
• Take ownership of legal responsibilities split across jurisdictions, with approximately 40% focused on local Indian legal requirements and 60% on matters on European/Swiss legal requirements
• Collaborate across geographies, ensuring alignment between Indian legal frameworks and Swiss banking regulations

Your golden ticket to the AMINA team:

• Master of Law from an accredited university (India or internationally), admission to the Indian bar, and additional education such as an LL.M. is an asset
• Experience of at least 5 years with a law firm, Big Four/consulting, or a bank, particularly in banking law, financial regulation, and crypto
• Knowledge/experience with investment products (documentation, contractual set-up, distribution) and regulatory aspects
• Interest in complex and innovative legal and regulatory topics around DLT, Web 3.0, and Fintech
• Team player with a hands-on approach, effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, as well as strong analytical and technical knowledge
• Fluency in English (other languages are an asset)
• Ideal candidate brings a hybrid legal background, having worked on both Swiss/European banking matters and Indian legal frameworks, with the ability to navigate and bridge both jurisdictions effectively
