Job Description – Book Store Keeper (Devotional Books & Gift Items)

Position Title: Store Keeper

Department: Book & Gift Stores

Location: Gambheeram

Reports To: Management

Role Summary

The Book Store Keeper is responsible for managing the inventory of devotional books and gift items, ensuring smooth issuance and return of stock, accurate record-keeping, and cash collection for book sales. The role also requires weekly stock audits, GST filing, and efficient use of MS-Excel for reporting and tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

Receive, store, and maintain devotional books and gift items.

Issue books/items as per requisition and record returns properly.

Maintain updated stock registers and ensure accountability for stock in hand.

Sales & Cash Handling

Collect cash for book sales and reconcile with issued stock.

Submit sales reports and cash collection details to management.

Audit & Reporting

Conduct weekly stock audits and submit audit reports.

Track discrepancies and ensure corrective actions.

Maintain accurate reports using MS-Excel.

Compliance

Prepare and assist in GST filing for sales transactions.

Ensure proper documentation for statutory compliance.

Support in bank reconciliation

Other Duties

Travel between different store locations as required.

Support in organizing book fairs, festivals, or devotional events.

Maintain discipline, neatness, and systematic arrangement in the store.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of stock handling and record-keeping.

Proficiency in MS-Excel (data entry, formulas, reporting).

Experience in GST filing and related compliance.

Good communication skills – soft-spoken, polite, and service-oriented.

Ability to travel and work flexibly.

Honest, hardworking, and reliable with a sense of accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate in Commerce / Business Administration (preferred).

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory, or accounts.

Prior experience in bookstores or devotional products handling will be an added advantage.

Work Conditions

Store-based role with field visits when required.

Willingness to work during special festivals or events or even on holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15, ₹20,000.00 per month
