Job Summary
The Programmer will develop, test, and implement software and control systems for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) used in our manufacturing processes. This role involves writing code, integrating hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure efficient, safe, and optimized machine operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Design and develop software for controlling SPMs, ensuring machines operate according to design specifications.
- Control Systems: Create and configure control systems using PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to monitor and control machine functions.
- Integration & Testing: Integrate software with machine hardware components and conduct thorough testing to validate functionality, reliability, and safety.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software, control, or hardware-related issues in the SPMs, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
- Collaboration: Work with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to understand machine requirements, and assist with programming, calibration, and adjustments.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for code, configurations, and system operations. Update manuals, operational guides, and training materials.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects for improving process efficiency, machine capabilities, and automation by optimizing existing software and controls.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all programming aligns with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in E&TC, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation,Automation, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in programming, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, Omron, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Ladder Logic).
- 6 Axis Robot teaching and interfacing
- Camera vision system
- Motion control ( Servo drives)
- Knowledge of control systems, motion control, sensors, and automation software.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to SPMs.
- Soft Skills:
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in PLC programming or automation systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software and machine design principles.
- Experience in the SPM or industrial automation industry.
