Primary responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that meet performance standards and business requirements
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis to extract actionable insights and drive data-informed decision-making
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models in production, implementing improvements and updates as needed
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines and high-quality datasets for model training and evaluation
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI and data science, incorporating cutting-edge techniques and technologies into projects
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for the data science team
• Work closely with the MLOps team to ensure smooth deployment and integration of models into production environments
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation, including model specifications, data dictionaries, and user guides
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile development process

Experience and Skills Required: 

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• 5+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning roles
• Strong proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Extensive experience with machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
• Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis, experimental design, and A/B testing
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex business problems into data science solutions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and ethical considerations in AI development
• Experience mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to team growth
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
