What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer Intern at , you'll work at the intersection of data engineering and AI
, helping us convert raw academic content into structured, AI-ready datasets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Parsing
    complex PDFs
    (including text, math equations, chemical notations, and diagrams).
  • Processing
    images, diagrams, and scientific figures
    for structured ingestion.
  • Designing
    pipelines
    to clean, split, and prepare data for embeddings.
  • Ingesting processed content into
    vector databases
    (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate).
  • Collaborating with the AI/ML team to ensure data quality for
    retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
    pipelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of
    Python
    and data processing libraries (e.g., MinerU, PyPDF2, pdfplumber, Pillow, OpenCV).
  • Exposure to
    NLP concepts
    and embeddings (e.g., sentence-transformers, Hugging Face).
  • Familiarity with
    vector databases
    (FAISS/Pinecone/Weaviate) is a plus.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work with
    unstructured/complex data
    .
  • Students in
    Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related fields
    (final year or recent graduates preferred).
