The Role

CriticalRiver is at the forefront of the AI revolution, and we are looking for a visionary Generative & Agentic AI Lead to spearhead our initiatives in this transformative space. You will be responsible for setting the strategy, leading a team of talented engineers, and architecting sophisticated AI solutions that solve complex business problems.

This is a leadership role for a hands-on expert who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI. You will be instrumental in designing and deploying intelligent agents and generative models that deliver real-world value to our international clients. If you have deep expertise in both open-source and proprietary AI platforms and a passion for building the next generation of autonomous systems, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do

• AI Strategy & Vision: Define and drive the technical strategy for generative and agentic AI, aligning with business goals and client needs.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Solution Architecture: Architect and design advanced AI solutions, including multi-agent systems, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, and custom large language model (LLM) applications.
• Hands-On Development: Lead by example, actively participating in the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of AI models and agents.
• Platform Expertise: Guide the selection and implementation of the best tools for the job, leveraging a mix of open-source frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face) and proprietary platforms (Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, Azure AI).
• Innovation & Research: Stay on the cutting edge of AI research, experimenting with new techniques and frameworks to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.

What You'll Bring

• Proven AI/ML Experience: Demonstrated experience in a senior or lead role within AI/ML, with a specific focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Generative AI Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience building solutions using generative AI models and frameworks. You should be proficient in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RAG architectures.
• Agentic AI Experience: Proven experience designing and building autonomous or multi-agent AI systems using frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or similar technologies.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and familiarity with common AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
• Platform Versatility: Experience working with both open-source models (e.g., Llama, Mistral) and proprietary APIs/platforms (e.g., OpenAI GPT series, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI Service).
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire a team and articulate complex AI concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• International Client Experience: Proven experience working with international customers, especially in the US and European markets.
• IT Services Background: Previous experience at a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Indian IT services company is a strong plus.
• Cloud AI Platforms: Deep expertise with the AI/ML offerings of a major cloud provider (Google Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning).
• Published Work or Open Source Contributions: Contributions to AI research, open-source projects, or a portfolio of innovative AI applications.
