ROLE
Level: Consultant
- As a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for designing, developing pipelines and plan the deployment of the code to various environments as part of large-scale software solutions at enterprise level.
- You will work with functional and technical teams on the project located across shores independently leading and mentoring junior team members, collaborating to understand the functional requirements and translate them into work products.
- You will be involved in end-to-end delivery of the project from estimations, planning, execution and tracking metrics for analysis.
- You will deal with all stages of the lifecycle for each product, from broker matching to management of the client's custodial network, lifecycle events, ensuring timely settlement of trades and cash, management of claims and overdrafts, client/regulatory reporting and input into the production of our Investment Book of Record delivery (IBOR).
- Understanding of asset management business, including front/middle/back office operations
- Functional knowledge of all investment vehicles/products such as Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, Loans, Money Markets, Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Swaps
- We are looking for a Senior Consultant with IBOR, BA & SQL understanding.
The work you will doincludes:
- Solid understanding of Order Management Systems (OMS) ecosystem – Charles River IMS, Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, and SimCorp Dimension.
- Strong understanding of asset management business, including middle and back-office operations.
- Ability to understand data models and utilize SQL to query data for testing and research.
- Functional knowledge of investment vehicles/products such as Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, Loans, Money Markets, Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Swaps.
- Experience in developing business requirements.
- Foundational knowledge of batch processes and scheduling tools like TIDAL or Control-M.
- Business User Acceptance Testing and Client User Acceptance Testing as a Business Analyst/Test Manager.
- Contribute expertise across the full investment management value chain, including front office trading and IBOR, as well as post-trade management activities such as trade capture, enrichment, confirmation, IBOR, and settlement notification.
- Work with industry-standard messaging formats, including SWIFT, XML, FIXML, CSV, FpML, and utilize trade confirmation market utilities such as Omgeo CTM, CTM US, and FX Connect - Trade Nexus.
- Serve as a Middle Office Subject Matter Expert (SME), validating asset classes and valuations, and supporting successful project delivery.
- Hands-on experience in Capital Markets, especially Middle Office Services with specialization in Trade Management (Trade Capture, Trade Enrichment, Data Management, Trade Confirmation & Settlement Notification, Fails Reporting), and Record Keeping (Book Keeping, Pricing, Corporate Actions, etc.).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to achieve project goals within aggressive timelines.
- Lead client management, test management, and resource management activities, ensuring high-quality outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including mapping documents, workflows, test plans, scenarios, and test cases.
- Analyze technical, functional, and operational changes to assess impact and recommend solutions.
- Build strong relationships to support key interactions and ensure premier service delivery.
- Own and/or oversee various components of daily operational activities essential to the construction and delivery of middle office services.
- Act as a communication source for escalation of issues, service updates, and progress updates for clients or internal partners.
- Maintain robust standard operating policies (SOPs), procedures, and guidelines to meet corporate risk and control standards.
- Work cross-functionally with technology, service, product, and other operations teams to manage the entire IBOR service delivery.
- Expertise in Corporate Action processing across asset classes and various corporate action types.
- Good understanding of QA methodologies, software testing life cycle, and processes.
- Hands-on experience in designing highly reusable and efficient test frameworks.
- Working knowledge of test management tools like Microfocus, Visual Studio Test Manager, Maven, JIRA, HP QC, or others.
Consulting Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Experience in managing conversations with client stakeholders.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and comfort working with MS PowerPoint.
- Lead and drive discussions with business and functional analysts to understand the business requirements and the impact of integration on the overall business architecture
- Prepare technical architecture and design; help shape requirements; and resolve ambiguities
- Develop solutions following established technical design, integration application development standards and quality processes in projects
- Establish technical design/development guides, templates and standards and ensure compliance
- Run the daily calls / scrum meetings with respect to deliverables and build the weekly status reports to be reviewed with leadership
- Perform detailed reviews on deliverables and provide technical guidance to the team members.
- Interact with onsite clients, coordinator / scrum master, analyst and offshore development, support team and other cross-functional teams
- Design templates or scripts to automate everyday developer or operations functions
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Project Experience:
Must Have:
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in IBOR and middle office operations, including transaction management, post-trade activities, and implementation projects (system migrations, process optimization, risk mitigation).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the investment management value chain, with expertise in OTC instruments, exchange-traded derivatives, fixed income, equity products, and other financial instruments.
- Strong background in cash and position reconciliations, break resolution, and root cause analysis to ensure data integrity between internal systems and external counterparties/custodians.
- In-depth understanding of security and portfolio valuation, including pricing source validation, fair value adjustments, and NAV calculations.
- Hands-on experience with corporate action processing across multiple asset classes, including event capture, entitlement calculation, instruction management, and downstream impact analysis.
- Familiarity with recordkeeping, book-keeping, and regulatory/client reporting related to corporate actions, reconciliations, and valuations.
- Technical proficiency in accounting principles/theories and industry-standard technology systems for data gathering and analysis.
- Experience in Business User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Client UAT as a Business Analyst, including active participation in design and architecture discussions.
- Proven ability to gather and document business requirements, develop functional specifications, create user stories, and map/test business processes and controls.
- Proficient in business analysis and data analysis tools, with knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall).
- Familiarity with SWIFT and other industry-standard messaging formats.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing small to medium-sized teams and collaborating across business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of supporting process improvements and operational decisions.
- Effective in global and matrix-managed environments, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, counterparties, and internal teams.
- Resourceful, proactive, and creative problem-solver with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, able to manage changing project demands and flexible working hours.
- Thorough understanding of transaction management processes, including trade capture, enrichment, confirmation, settlement notification, and reconciliation.
Good to Have:
- Knowledge on CRD ALPHA & BlackRock Aladdin, Simcorp Coric
- Working knowledge of reporting tools – Jira / ALM / Confluence / Power BI
- Certifications on ISTQB / CFA / NCFM
Education:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university with strong academic record.
Prior Experience:
3-6 years in Middle Office BA and any other OMS QA role
