About the role:

Are you a passionate and driven leader with a heart for social change? Project Safety is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underprivileged women and girls who are vulnerable to crime and domestic violence. We provide essential self-defense and safety practices, including classes on good touch and bad touch, menstrual hygiene, social-emotional learning, and physical training. We are seeking a dedicated
Co-founder
to help us build and scale our organization from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Project Safety. As a Co-founder, you will work alongside the founder to develop and execute our vision, grow our network of partners, and secure funding to expand our reach and impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    Collaborate on setting the strategic direction, goals, and long-term vision for Project Safety.
  • Fundraising and Partnerships:
    Lead efforts to secure grants, sponsorships, and donations. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporations, foundations, and community leaders.
  • Operations Management:
    Oversee day-to-day operations, including program development, volunteer coordination, and financial management.
  • Marketing and Outreach:
    Develop and implement a robust marketing and communication strategy to raise awareness about Project Safety and its mission.
  • Team Building:
    Recruit, train, and manage a team of passionate volunteers and future staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within the nonprofit sector or a startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • A deep commitment to our mission of empowering women and girls.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
