About the Role

The SAP RISE Senior Solution Architect – Retail & CPG will lead architecture strategy, solution design, and end-to-end delivery optimization of SAP S/4HANA transformations using RISE with SAP framework.

The candidate will be expected to advise the CFO on optimal utilization of SAP within Finance and commercial teams to architect modern, cloud-ready SAP environments that support omnichannel operations, rapid product lifecycle changes, and consumer-driven supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP RISE & Cloud Architecture

• Lead S/4HANA solutioning under the RISE SAP cloud model, optimizing for retail and CPG-specific operations.
• Define application, data, integration, and infrastructure architecture across the end-to-end SAP landscape.
• Ensure alignment with SAP clean core principles and leverage SAP BTP for extensions, automation, and analytics.
• Assess and recommend hyperscaled architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP) that support seasonal scalability and high-volume retail events (e.g., Black Friday, Boxing Day).

2. Retail & CPG Business Solutioning

• Architect solutions for critical retail & CPG processes:
• Omnichannel retail operations (in-store, eCommerce, mobile)
• Retail merchandising, assortment planning & master data
• Demand planning & replenishment
• Trade promotions, pricing, and rebate management
• Supply chain planning (IBP), procurement, and supplier collaboration
• Warehouse, transportation & last-mile distribution
• Batch management, product traceability & compliance
• Design integrations with common industry solutions (POS, eCommerce platforms, distributor systems, 3PL, WMS/TMS).

3. Technical Leadership & Governance

• Provide architectural governance across greenfield, brownfield, or selective transformation paths.
• Lead landscape transformation discussions, conversion planning, and data migration strategy (including legacy ERPs common in retail/CPG).
• Ensure performance, scalability, and resilience for high-volume transaction environments.
• Mentor solution leads, functional consultants, and technical teams across streams.

4. Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

• Advise business leaders on SAP-enabled operating models for omnichannel fulfillment, digital commerce, and integrated supply chains.
• Host architecture workshops and design authority forums.
• Collaborate with merchandisers, supply planners, category managers, and logistics leadership to define future-state processes.
• Engage with SAP, hyperscalers, and key retail/CPG technology partners to shape the overall roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of SAP experience, including 4+ years in architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (retail/CPG processes preferred).
• Deep understanding of SAP RISE deployment models and cloud-based operating environments.
• Experience with SAP BTP (extensions, integration suite, workflows, API management).
• Exposure to key retail/CPG integrations: POS, ERP, OMS, 3PL, eCommerce, merchandising systems.
• Strong understanding of supply chain and commercial processes across FI/CO, MM, SD, EWM, PP-PI, F&R, and potentially CAR (Customer Activity Repository).
• Experience supporting high-transaction volume environments and seasonal demand spikes.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA or SAP Retail certification(s).
• Experience with SAP CAR, IBP, Ariba, or TM/EWM in CPG contexts.
• Background in retail store operations, merchandising processes, or digital commerce transformations.
• Knowledge of promotional planning, SKU rationalization, and product lifecycle management.
