Job Description – HVAC/ Plumbing & Firefighting Design Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for delivering high-quality design output across HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems to meet project objectives, specifications, codes, and standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, proficiency in design software, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary efforts while guiding teams to deliver within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver project discipline scope elements in compliance with project objectives, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Lead and support concept, schematic, and detailed design development of HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems for commercial, residential, retail, hospital, and high-rise projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations for HVAC loads, PHE, and Firefighting systems; select suitable systems and equipment.
  • Develop design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and reports using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, HAP, and BIM360.
  • Ensure peer review and QA/QC compliance of design deliverables as per company procedures.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integration of design outputs.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers/designers for accuracy and efficiency of work.
  • Support space planning, design reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Oversee design production for district cooling, VRV systems, heat recovery ventilation, kitchen and basement ventilation, and other specialized HVAC solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with international, national, and Gulf/UAE authority codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Assist with project management duties, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of total experience (minimum 2–6 years on Gulf design projects).
  • Strong knowledge and experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting system design.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, HAP & BIM360 platforms.
  • Good understanding of engineering codes, standards, and authorities' regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
