Credo AI is a venture-backed company on a mission to empower organizations to responsibly build, adopt, procure and use AI at scale. Credo AI has built a pioneering platform for context-driven AI governance, AI risk assessment and compliance (to regulations like the EU AI Act and standards like NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001 etc) to ensure compliant, fair, and auditable development and use of AI. Our goal is to move responsible AI development from an "ethical" choice to an obvious one-by ensuring AI's benefits are universally accessible while addressing the full spectrum of its risks. We aim to do this both by making it easier for organizations to integrate responsible AI Governance practices into their AI development and by collaborating with regulators/policymakers to set up appropriate ecosystem incentives. Founded in 2020, Credo AI has been recognized as a one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2024 by Fast Company, a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, named to the CBInsights' AI 100 List and World's Most Promising Startups list, and included in Fast Company's Next Big Thing in Tech and Intelligent Applications Top 40 by Madrona, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Pitchbook.
Role OverviewWe are seeking an AI Governance Competitive Strategy Manager to lead competitive intelligence, competitive positioning, and strategic de-positioning efforts across a rapidly evolving industry landscape. This role will own the research, analysis, positioning, and GTM alignment needed to help Credo AI outpace legacy GRC platforms, AI security vendors, MLOps tools, emerging agentic AI players, and governance point-solutions.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that blends research rigor, technical depth, storytelling, and GTM alignment. Your work will directly influence pipeline velocity, win rate, analyst perception, and FY26 market leadership.
Build a real-time, always-on view of the competitive landscape across:
AI governance platforms
GRC & Risk/Compliance systems
AI security & agentic AI defense tools
MLOps/ModelOps platforms
Agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., MCP)
Analyze launches, pricing, sales motions, technical claims, roadmap signals, and ecosystem partnerships.
Publish weekly competitive insights, monthly strategic deep dives, and quarterly competitive shifts.
Create premium-quality battlecards, kill sheets, objection-handling guides, competitive briefs, and executive takeout narratives.
Build persona-specific competitive positioning for CISOs, CAIOs, Risk, Compliance, Policy, AI Platform, and Data/ML leaders.
Partner with Sales, SDR, Advisory, and Partnerships teams to ensure readiness for competitive deal cycles.
Onboard and manage tools like Crayon or Klue and enable sales/ field teams on latest competitive insights.
This is a core pillar of the role — not optional.
You will:
Work hand-in-hand with the Credo AI Research team to validate every competitive claim with technical rigor, architecture-level accuracy, and evidence-based analysis.
Pressure-test differentiation across:
GAIA (Governance of AI Agents)
Shadow AI discovery & risk identification
Model lifecycle governance
Runtime risk & controls
Regulatory compliance frameworks (ISO 42001, NIST RMF, EU AI Act)
Co-create technical teardown frameworks and competitive benchmarks with Research.
Ensure Credo AI's competitive story is scientifically accurate, technically defensible, and differentiated at an enterprise level.
Build and refine Credo AI's competitive POV on the AI governance and agentic AI markets.
Partner with Product, Advisory, and Research to translate new capabilities into market-differentiated narratives.
Contribute to analyst evaluations (Forrester, Gartner, IDC, Everest) with competitive insights that shape category perception.
Analyze win/loss drivers across segments, regions, and competitors.
Identify patterns and deliver actionable insights to Sales, Product, and GTM leadership.
Integrate competitive signals into forecasting and pipeline strategy with RevOps.
Produce technical comparison content, competitive teardown blogs, and governance strategy POVs.
Partner with Research to author evidence-backed competitive narratives.
Serve as a trusted internal expert on competitor capabilities and market shifts.
5–10 years in competitive intelligence, product marketing, market strategy, or technical marketing, preferably in:
AI governance
AI security
GRC & enterprise risk
MLOps / AI infrastructure
Cloud security / enterprise SaaS
Deep understanding of:
LLMs, copilots, and autonomous AI agents
Agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., MCP)
AI risk controls & governance workflows
Enterprise compliance frameworks (ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act)
Demonstrated ability to partner with research or technical teams to validate complex claims.
Proven capability in crafting competitive assets that elevate win rates.
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills — crisp, technical, and executive-ready.
Experience enabling Sales, Advisory, and Partnerships teams with competitive insights.
Analytical rigor with a bias for evidence over opinion.
High ownership, discipline, and comfort with ambiguity.
Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Research, Advisory, and Sales.
Credo AI maintains clear, differentiated positioning in an increasingly crowded market.
Win rates improve across key competitive segments.
Analysts validate Credo AI's leadership based on competitive strength and innovation.
Sales, SDRs, and Advisory teams operate confidently with best-in-class competitive assets.
Credo AI becomes the undisputed enterprise standard for AI governance and agentic AI oversight.
Work at the frontier of one of the most critical categories in the coming decade.
Influence high-stakes enterprise AI decisions globally.
Collaborate with world-class researchers and GTM leaders.
Play a defining role in shaping Credo AI's competitive future.
