Description

The role requires experience in the design of deep and shallow foundations for maritime structures, as well as experience in dredging, reclamation and ground improvement works for major port projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical tasks such as geotechnical analyses, calculations, design, verification or desktop studies for the development of maritime infrastructure.
  • Perform stability, settlement, and foundation analyses for piers, wharves, retaining walls, quay walls, etc.
  • Evaluate soil-structure interaction and provide recommendations for foundation systems, including shallow and deep foundations.
  • Perform liquefaction assessments, design ground improvement techniques, slope stabilisation measures and earthworks.
  • Review data and testing reports from geotechnical investigations and prepare geotechnical interpretative reports.
  • Preparation of reports, specifications, cost estimates and undertaking tender reviews.
  • Review contractors' designs.
Qualifications
  • Experience in dredging, reclamation and ground improvement works, that includes development of relevant design and specifications for design-build packages.
  • Past experience in coordinating with specialist contractors during site investigations.
  • Good knowledge of all the relevant Eurocodes and British standards applicable to maritime structures.
  • Demonstrable experinece of geotechnical design of maritime structures including marginal quay(blockwalls, combiwalls. etc) jetty, dolphins, Ro-Ro faclities, marinas, coastal structures etc.
