WHO YOU ARE :

As part of our software engineering team, you will take the lead in building the next-generation infrastructure and platforms for Zinnia, including but not limited to: scalable data storage infrastructure, analytics platform, streams processing and data pipelines, cutting-edge search platform, best-in-class AI/ML infrastructure, Kubernetes compute infrastructure, document storage infrastructure, etc.

You will work and learn among the best, putting to use your passion for distributed technologies and algorithms, API design and systems design, and your passion for writing code that performs at massive scale.

We also work with industry standard open source infrastructure technologies like Kubernetes, GRPC and GraphQL come join our infrastructure teams and share the knowledge with a broader community while making a real impact within our company.

As an Senior Engineering Manager, you will spearhead a group of skilled engineers, driving innovation and disruption in the insurance industry through technology-driven platforms.

Your role is pivotal in enabling the team to excel, not just by guiding the technical vision but also by fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with the Product Manager on customer discovery, streamlining the discovery and delivery processes to enhance our solutions further.

WHAT YOULL DO :

- Work as part of a global, cross-functional team to develop innovative software for Zinnias stakeholders.

- Lead, mentor, hire and manage a team(s) of engineers to build and maintain solutions to support the team.

- Set clear goals, identifies priorities, manages trade-offs, and develop a technical vision for your team(s).

- Build trust within your team, collaborates across teams, and involve partners in decision-making.

- Empower teams with responsibilities, metrics, and supports their technical advancement.

- Develop team structure aligned with strategy, including performance, development, and hiring.

- Promote engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and a supportive, inclusive environment.

- Design and deliver iterative solutions with Product, Design, and Marketing partners.

- Collaborate with leadership on technical strategy and adapts to shifting priorities.

WHAT YOULL NEED :

Basic Qualifications :

- BS/BE in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.

years of experience as a software engineer, creating and supporting products.

- A proven track record of mentoring and developing the careers of software engineers.

- A proven track record of setting clear goals, managing trade-offs, and driving a technical vision.

- Experience programming in object-oriented languages such as Java, Go, Rust, Python, Scala.

- Strong experience as an architect, or technical leadership position.

- Hands-on experience developing large-scale, distributed systems, and databases.

- Hands-on experience with Cloud platform.

Preferred Qualifications :

- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership position.

- Strong experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, Go, Rust, Python, Scala.

- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures.

- Experience in architecting and designing large-scale distributed systems related to data infrastructure, Kubernetes, and platforms.

- Experience with Cloud platforms (Preferred AWS).
