Primary Purpose::
The primary purpose of instructional design in academics for the school sector is to create effective and engaging learning experiences for students. Instructional design involves systematic planning, development, and implementation of instructional materials and strategies to facilitate learning and achievement of educational objectives. It aims to optimize the teaching and learning process by considering the needs, abilities, and learning styles of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Frameworks Development
• Research and analyze curriculum mandates and academic requirements of assigned educational boards (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, State Boards).
• Study best practices in assessment, instruction, and curriculum design to inform framework development.
• Create comprehensive academic frameworks that align with board standards, subject competencies, company vision, and stakeholder expectations
• Integrate principles of progression, scaffolding and block building across grades and subjects.
Curriculum Development:
Design and develop curriculum content including lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and teaching aids across subjects and grade levels.
Alignment with Educational Standards:
Ensure all resources are aligned with relevant board/educational authority standards (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, State Boards).
Pedagogical Integration:
Incorporate the latest research-based pedagogical practices and learning theories into curriculum design (e.g., constructivism, inquiry-based learning, experiential learning).
Age-Appropriate Content Creation:
Develop content that is developmentally appropriate for different age groups and cognitive levels.
Differentiated Instruction:
Design content to meet diverse learner needs, including scaffolding for struggling students and enrichment for advanced learners.
Assessment Design:
Create formative and summative blueprints, assessments that effectively measure student understanding, skills, and competencies.
