We are looking for a Legal Associate who will handle end-to-end legal matters including contract drafting, review, negotiation, data privacy, and compliance. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in SaaS / technology contracts, a good understanding of data protection laws, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements such as:

SaaS subscription agreements

Master Service Agreements (MSAs)

Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)

Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)

Vendor and partnership agreements

Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Provide legal support to sales and procurement teams during contract negotiations to ensure risk mitigation while enabling business growth.

Advise internal stakeholders on data protection (DPDP Act, GDPR, etc.), technology licensing, and intellectual property matters.

Work with product and engineering teams to ensure product compliance with applicable technology, data, and privacy regulations.

Maintain and update contract templates, trackers, and documentation systems.

Liaise with external counsel for specialized legal opinions or litigation (if any).

Stay updated on emerging legal developments in SaaS, data privacy, and commercial law.

Required Qualifications & Skills

LLB (mandatory); LLM preferred but not required.

24 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.

Proven experience in technology / SaaS contract drafting and negotiation.

Good understanding of data privacy and cybersecurity regulations (India & global).

Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced tech environment.

Sound understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

Exposure to global contracting (US, EU, APAC) and cross-border data transfer laws.

Familiarity with DPDP Act (India) and GDPR compliance frameworks.

Experience working with SaaS / mobility tech / B2B product companies.

Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or legal tech software.
