We are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our esteemed construction team. As a vital part of our operations, the QS will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. The role entails preparing cost estimates, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating tenders to assure project viability and adherence to budget constraints. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an in-depth understanding of construction processes and practices. This position requires a strategic mindset to negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service delivery. Additionally, the QS will be instrumental in cost management and control throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that financial targets are met while maintaining project integrity. The QS must be adept at producing accurate reports and forecasts, providing clarity for stakeholders regarding project performance. Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine project viability and financial implications.
  • Evaluate and analyze tenders, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
  • Monitor project budgets, making adjustments as necessary to maintain financial control.
  • Review contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare reports on project costs and financial forecasting for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate cost and resource allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using QS software and tools for estimation and project management.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and produce detailed reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
