  1. JOB DETAILS:

Position Title Field Technician

Reports to Position Team Leader

  1. JOB PURPOSE:

  2. Install, test and maintain Cable Video, High Speed Internet and Phone equipment connecting customer's residential equipment to the CLIENT Fixed Data Network.

  3. Terminate various forms of telecommunications and electrical wiring and cabling including copper and fibre optic cabling, patch panels, and wireless access points to ensure proper and reliable connections of various electronic equipment.

  4. Complete daily assigned work orders within the CLIENT SLAs and Installation Standard requirements

  5. Promptly report/escalate any site issue

  6. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  7. Responsible for installing, relocating, disconnecting, repairing, troubleshooting and auditing cable service and ancillary equipment.

  8. Installation and configuration of Wireless routers.

  9. Follow departmental installation/service policies and comply with standards.

  10. Respond to requests and answer customer questions in a professional and courteous manner.

  11. Properly operates and maintains tools and equipment.

  12. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of customer premise equipment and services listings in order to provide information to customers.

  13. Prepares and maintains logs, reports, certificates and other related documentation in accordance with company and departmental policies.

  14. Maintains, organizes and stocks vehicle with the proper equipment in order to perform required customer visits.

  15. Ensure Any unused material is returned to store

  16. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Employment Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Cable/Telecommunications equipment installation.

  • Good Communication skills - English

  • Exceptional customer service attitude & ability to communicate effectively required.

  • Must have a Professional demeanour and the ability to work independently and effectively.

Qualification:

  • School Certificate (Year 10) or equivalent.

  • Data Networking Certification (e.g. Cisco CCNA) an advantage

  • Valid UAE Driving Licence an advantage

  • Experience with computers preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Category 3/5/6 cabling, fibre optic cabling, termination and testing

  • Knowledge of basic electronic theory as it relates to essential clienteles.

  • Relevant knowledge of personal computer hardware and software.

  • Ability to utilize software (i.e., ping tool) to analyse network connectivity.

  • Ability to use signal level meter and various test equipment to perform essential clienteles.

  • Ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a positive manner and accept constructive feedback.

  • Ability to communicate professionally, effectively, and courteously with customers and co-workers.

  • Ability to analyse and troubleshoot cable equipment and wiring

  • Must be able to read test meters, instruction manuals and other documents.

  • Must be able to distinguish and identify various colours, which identify TV components, jacks, outlets various wiring and cabling required for installations.

  • Must be able to work independently in tight spaces (i.e., attics, crawl spaces) and in high places (i.e., rooftops, ladders).
