Hiring Now: Strawberry Perl Developer | Remote | 21 hours/week

We are seeking a skilled Strawberry Perl Developer with 3-5 years of professional experience to join us on a remote, part-time contractor basis. This role requires strong Perl expertise, independence, and problem-solving ability to maintain and enhance Perl-based applications and automation systems.

The contractor will work 3 days per week, 7 hours per day, offering flexibility while ensuring consistent contribution to ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize applications using Strawberry Perl.
  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing codebases.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compatibility and stability of scripts across platforms.
  • Follow best practices for testing and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in Perl development.
  • Proficiency in Strawberry Perl on Windows environments.
  • Firm grasp of both procedural and object-oriented Perl programming.
  • Experience with CPAN modules, testing frameworks, and package management.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices or automation workflows.
  • Exposure to additional scripting languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
