Position:

Embedded Engr II

The purpose of Embedded Engr II role is to ensure robust product quality in collaboration with Honeywell technology and business stakeholders. The role demonstrates technical leadership across multiple product subsystems and takes ownership for technical capability development and mentoring in team.

Primary Responsibilities:-

  • Uses strong domain and product knowledge to guide team to ensure completeness of deployment scenarios, use cases and user profile and built-in product quality.
  • Responsible for product validation strategy including estimation, new methodologies, DOE, architecture risks mitigation during elaboration, automation and simulation planning.
  • Responsible for the product quality and defining test topology for assigned product lines including large systems.
  • Work with system engineers and architects to ensure testability, usability and cyber security requirements are defined well.
  • Work closely with Projects, customers and Technical assistance team for OVOC, Solution consultancy, Customer issue resolutions.
  • Drive growth projects, technology incubation and research topics to the extent applicable. Participate in Proof of concept (POC) and Product visualization (PPV)
  • Prepare and perform program review through Metrices, share statuses and take mitigation actions.
  • Monitor release quality criteria, present unbiased product quality view to enable customer acceptance for release and balance the optimum quality and schedule.
  • Continuously review post release product defects and enhance the test coverage scenarios
  • Participate in technology trade shows, conferences for knowledge gain/sharing and Honeywell technology symposiums for knowledge sharing through paper and poster presentations and technology demonstrations as opportunities arise.
  • Collaborate across SBG to drive the common practices and synergies to achieve the results in terms of Cost, Quality and speed.
  • Actively participate in generating and implementing new state of the art solutions at Honeywell.
  • Monitor new technology trends, generate growth ideas and publish white papers.
  • Perform gap analysis and arrive at new solutions, tools, process and automation to reduce cost applicable and guide teams in productivity improvements

Education:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

Experience:

Extensive experience (5+ Years) in Honeywell Process Solutions domains / verticals and strong experience in HPS Systems product portfolios including DCS, Safety, Migration, Legacy etc.

Desired Skills

  • Hands on/In depth understanding of Distributed Control Systems for Batch, Life Sciences and Pharma Industries.
  • Domain understanding of DCS system deployment in Pharma, Batch or F&B verticals, having working experience of Control Systems for Batch process.
  • Experience working in Process Industrial Control preferably Honeywell DCS, Emerson Delta V DCS, ABB 800XA DCS, Yokogawa DCS, Invensys DCS etc.
  • Good knowledge on cGMP documentation.
  • Knowledge on Digital platform SAP & TrackWise to handle PM/BD and QMS documents.
  • Debugging / technical evaluation of DCS system networks / solutions.
  • Understanding of Industrial Protocols – HART, PROFIBUS, Profinet, Ethernet IP, Fieldbus
  • Understanding of a Honeywell Legacy and Hybrid solution would be added advantage.
  • SDLC process and various Test management tools and Processes.
  • Virtualization concepts and deployment understanding.
  • Proven track record of managing complex programs successfully which have critical business knowledge and skills
  • Candidate should be able to support, lead and influence team to drive changes successfully
  • Understanding of various testing and development methodologies, Automation and DOE (Design of Experiments) techniques to optimize efforts
  • Strong communication and Interpersonal skills and should have worked extensively with global stakeholders like projects, TAC, services etc
  • Hands on knowledge on breadth of product including various communications standards, controllers, interfaces, Knowledge of Honeywell systems, various performance and capacity specifications etc.
  • Continuous improvement and Innovative mindset is essential and candidate should have created/implemented new ideas
