Role & responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies for plant operations.

  • Train and guide employees on safe work practices, chemical handling, PPE usage, and emergency preparedness.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies and procedures in line with pharma industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with Factories Act, EHS guidelines, Pollution Control Board norms, OSHA, GxP, and other statutory regulations.

  • Investigate incidents/accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure safe operations of reactors, boilers, pressure vessels, hazardous chemicals, solvents, and utilities.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Lead and monitor emergency response plans, fire drills, and first aid preparedness.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry / Environmental Science) / B.Tech (Chemical / Safety / EHS) with Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
  • 14 To 22 years of EHS/Safety management experience in API / Bulk Drugs / Pharma manufacturing.
