The Manager Software Engineering independently manages a team that is accountable for engineering secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions to advance CMEG in the global marketplace and serve risk management needs of customers around the world.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrates advanced language proficiency; Contributes to the architectural vision of the company. Mentors development staff and influences enterprise technology decision-making; Serves as an excellent representative for vendor/customer interactions.

  • Demonstrates expertise in Design and Analysis patterns and identifies architectural best practices, promoting them within the division and company-wide.

  • Demonstrates understanding of trade-offs relative to simplicity and complexity; Ensures code reviews and discussions are completed; Reviews environment build deployments, release notes, and build notices.

  • Displays advanced knowledge of database SQL, intermediate database modeling, and advanced database tuning.

  • Enables unit and systems testing through tools and enterprise perspective.

  • Independently manages a team accountable for engineering secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions.

  • Oversees development of designs for all aspects of the application their team is responsible for delivering.
     

Skills and Software Requirements:

  • Strong Experience with Java, and optional modern languages such as Scala

  • Strong experience using Java and Cloud-centric technologies to Engineer critical business commitments.

  • Experience with microservices.

  • Experience with Kafka, Flink

  • Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Git

  • Experience working with containers such as Docker hub.

  • Experience working independently, as well as in a team environment, proactively driving initiatives and tasks while meeting agreed delivery timelines

  • Ability to provide effective and timely solutions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with application management tools such as JIRA
