Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Accounting (B.Com). Additionally, CA Inter (Chartered Accountant Intermediate) cleared or currently pursuing is required (candidates who are semi-qualified CAs, ACCA part-qualified, or CMA Inter will also be considered). This role leverages your advanced accounting training in practical scenarios.

Experience: 2–5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably as a junior or staff accountant. Experience in an accounting outsourcing firm or handling accounts for international clients (especially in UAE/Gulf) is a strong plus. Proven track record of managing general ledger and financial reports is required.

Accounting Expertise: Solid understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles. Able to apply IFRS/IAS standards in recording transactions and preparing financial statements. Familiarity with Indian accounting standards and US GAAP is a bonus (since it indicates versatility). Working knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial regulations in the Middle East (or the ability to quickly learn these) is expected.

Software Proficiency: Advanced user of QuICkBooks (online and desktop) – able to use its reporting, bank reconciliation, and multi-currency features. Experience with Zoho Books or other cloud ERP/accounting systems is beneficial. Strong MS Excel skills are necessary (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and handling large datasets).

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in accounting contexts. Capable of investigating and explaining variances in financial statements, and troubleshooting reconciliation issues. Attention to detail is critical – you should be able to catch accounting errors and rectify them independently.

Communication: Fluent in English with effective business communication skills. Able to write professional emails and accounting reports for clients. Confidence in interacting with international clients via calls or video meetings is important. Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-accounting stakeholders is a plus.

Professional Attributes: High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information. Strong time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple client accounts and meet tight reporting deadlines. A self-starter who keeps updated with changes in accounting standards (e.g., new IFRS updates) and Gulf tax rules. Team player mentality – willing to collaborate and occasionally stretch work hours during peak periods (month-end, year-end) to ensure all deliverables are met.
