Education: BE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:
The Plant & Machinery Engineer will oversee the selection, maintenance, and operation of construction equipment and machinery. This role involves ensuring that all plant and machinery are functioning efficiently and safely to meet project demands, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance, machine maintenance, and breakdown analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and recommend machinery and equipment requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant, machinery, and construction equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular machine maintenance and inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Perform breakdown analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitor the performance of equipment, identifying areas for improvement and making necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct audits of machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports in SAP to track machinery usage, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure the timely availability and mobilization of equipment on-site.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on the operation and maintenance of machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of machinery usage, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for procurement and servicing of equipment.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for machinery-related expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 to 8 years of experience in plant and machinery management, focusing on plant maintenance, machine maintenance, and construction equipment maintenance within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of various types of construction equipment and their maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in equipment management software and tools, including SAP for MIS reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in equipment management or maintenance (e.g., ISO, PMP).
  • Experience with heavy machinery and construction equipment used in infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in the construction industry.
