A senior cybersecurity professional develops and implements security strategies, identifies and mitigates vulnerabilities, responds to and investigates security incidents, and ensures compliance with regulations. This role often involves leading security projects, mentoring junior team members, recommending new security technologies, and collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to align security goals with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability Management:Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability tests, and penetration testing to identify and remediate security gaps across systems and networks.
  • Incident Response & Investigation:Lead the response to security incidents and breaches, including detailed analysis, damage mitigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Threat Intelligence:Evaluate and validate threat intelligence data, develop new data sources, and manage data sharing mechanisms with partners.
  • Security Technology Management:Implement and manage various security controls, evaluate new security technologies, and promote their use within the organization.
  • Collaboration & Communication:Work with IT, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align security strategies, gather requirements, and ensure compliance.
  • Mentorship & Leadership:Mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance, and contribute to team skill development.
  • Compliance & Reporting:Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, ISO Prepare and present reports on cybersecurity posture to management and customers.
