About the Opportunity

Healthcare — Tertiary care hospital and women's health services. We deliver comprehensive maternal and gynaecologic care across outpatient, perioperative, and inpatient settings for patients across India. This on-site Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist role will join a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based obstetric and gynaecologic services, lead clinical protocols, and support quality improvement initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end clinical care for obstetric and gynaecology patients—antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal management—ensuring evidence-based decision making and documentation.
  • Perform operative procedures including elective and emergency Caesarean sections, assisted vaginal deliveries, and common gynaecologic surgeries (open and laparoscopic) with high standards of surgical safety.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and coordinate multidisciplinary care with neonatology, anaesthesia and critical care teams to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.
  • Conduct and interpret obstetric ultrasound and fetal monitoring (CTG/NST); escalate and act on abnormal findings promptly.
  • Lead or contribute to clinical governance activities—case reviews, morbidity & mortality meetings, protocol development and audits to drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff; support patient education and counselling on family planning, fertility, and postoperative care.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
  • MBBS with MD/ MS/ DNB or DGO in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a consultant role or equivalent clinical responsibility in obstetrics & gynaecology
  • Proven experience in managing high-risk pregnancies and emergency obstetric situations
  • Proficiency in operative obstetrics—Caesarean sections and instrumental deliveries
  • Competence in obstetric ultrasound and fetal monitoring (CTG/NST)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent emergency resuscitation training
Preferred
  • Fellowship or formal training in minimal access gynaecologic surgery (laparoscopy/hysteroscopy)
  • Additional training in fetal medicine or high-risk obstetrics
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and participation in clinical audits/research
