Role Description

This is a full-time(or Contract) hybrid role located in Noida for a Python Backend Django Developer. The developer will be responsible for designing and implementing server-side logic, optimising performance of applications, writing reusable and efficient code, and integrating with front-end components. Collaborating with front-end developers and ensuring high performance and responsiveness of applications is crucial in this role.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Backend Web Development with Django and Python
  • Experience in Software Development and Programming
  • Knowledge of database management and query optimisation
  • Understanding of Front-End Development for efficient integration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Python backend developer preferably in Django framework.

Your Mission

As a backend developer at Mentorsmoon, you will work on
high-impact, scalable platforms
, architecting and developing APIs, payment systems, search, and chat features that power real-world business transactions and user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build
    REST APIs
    (Django REST Framework) for multi-role platforms (creators, vendors, end-users).
  • Develop
    secure order, payment, and payout systems
    with dispute handling and escrow/hold logic.
  • Implement
    real-time chat APIs
    .
  • Architect
    search pipelines
    (Elastic/Algolia + embeddings) for designs, products, and user discovery.
  • Manage
    file uploads & secure storage
    (AWS S3/GCP with signed URLs).
  • Develop
    notification systems
    (in-app + email).
  • Write
    scalable, testable, and maintainable code
    with strong API documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in
    Python, Django, Django REST Framework
    .
  • Proficiency with
    PostgreSQL
    (transactions, indexing, relational graphs).
  • Understanding of
    event-driven systems
    (Celery/Redis, queues, delayed jobs).
  • Experience with
    payment workflows, webhooks, and dispute handling
    .
  • Knowledge of
    real-time systems
    (chat, notifications, live feeds).
  • Familiarity with
    Elasticsearch/Algolia
    .
