PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Job Description:   The candidate will be part of an international team in charge of the design-development of POS application for retail industry for a very complex application. You will be part of a global team, contributing to software development for a market leader for retail solutions

Important Points :

Role: The candidate, as Principle Engineer will design/develop point of sale (POS) applications which is platform agnostic.  The candidate will be expected to ensure quality of deliverables.

Activities:  Candidate will participate in following activities:

  1. Involved into requirements analysis.
  2. Participate in design activities for all levels of architecture. Prepare design documents, flow charts, use case docs etc. & discussion with stake holders.
  3. Participating in review of design documents & performing code reviews.
  4. Software development of new functions and unit testing for the same.
  5. Customer handling on technical issues and support.
  6. Guide junior team members and groom them for senior roles.

Major Skills

Mandatory Technical Skills

  1. Expert-level programming in C and C++.

  2. Android expertise is preferred; if not, strong fundamentals such as Activity lifecycles and Activity communication are expected.

  3. Proficiency with Operating Systems Windows, Linux, and Android.

  4. Strong Debugging Skills using tools such as GDB, Visual Studio, and Android Studio IDE.
  5. Experience with Multi-threaded Programming.
  6. Hands-on experience with SVN and other version control tools.
  7. Experience in handling CMake files and using various build/debugging tools.

Nice to have technical skills:

  1. Domain knowledge of Retail industry.
  2. Collaboration experience with international teams.
  3. Kotlin programming language.
  4. Experience as a team lead.

Soft Skills:

  1. Effective global communication.
  2. Effective team player.
  3. Very high ownership of deliverables in terms of schedule and quality.
