Lead Test Analyst (Automation) Job Description

1. Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Strategy & Framework Development

Define and implement a robust test automation strategy aligned with business objectives.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and modular automation frameworks for:

Web applications (Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework)

Mobile applications (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest)

API testing (Postman, RestAssured, Robot Framework)

Ensure high automation coverage for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Test Planning & Execution

Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and automation scripts based on business requirements.

Execute and maintain automated test suites across multiple platforms and environments.

Implement best practices for parallel execution, cross-browser testing, and test data management.

Tool Selection & Implementation

Evaluate, recommend, and integrate automation tools for web, mobile, API, and performance testing.

Implement automation in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Utilize cloud-based test execution platforms like Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or LambdaTest.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to define quality standards.

Participate in sprint planning, requirement analysis, and code reviews.

Provide mentorship and training to junior test automation engineers.

Performance, Security, & Accessibility Testing

Implement performance testing using JMeter, Gatling, k6.

Conduct security testing using OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or SonarQube.

Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG, AXE, Lighthouse).

Defect Management & Reporting

Identify, track, and report defects in defect-tracking tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.

Generate automation execution reports with detailed logs and trend analysis.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Optimize automation scripts for reusability, scalability, and maintainability.

Research and implement AI-driven test automation (e.g., using OpenAI, Testim, Mabl).

Establish best practices for coding standards, automation frameworks, and test strategies.

Must-Have Skills:

Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, or C#

Test Automation Frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, Appium
