Job Title: Electrical Designer Bus Body Division

Location: JCBL Plant, Lalru, Punjab

Department: Design & Engineering – Bus Body Division

Reports To: Manager – Design & Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Designer for our Bus Body Division at the Lalru plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems and layouts for a variety of bus models, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and functional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complete electrical layouts, wiring harnesses, and schematics for bus bodies based on customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain 2D/3D electrical drawings using AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar CAD tools.
  • Selection and specification of electrical components such as lights, relays, switches, fuses, connectors, etc.
  • Integrate electrical systems with HVAC, infotainment, power systems, and other subassemblies.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues during development and production.
  • Maintain documentation including Bill of Materials (BOM), testing protocols, change notes, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with CMVR, AIS, ISO, and other automotive standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for components and integration solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in electrical design for automotive or bus body manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, CATIA Electrical, or similar design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and bus body regulations.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and homologation processes.
  • Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with CAN communication, multiplex wiring systems.
  • Exposure to electric vehicle (EV) electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with wiring harness layout and routing in bus bodies.
