Mining Geologist

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct geological surveys, mapping, and sampling at the mine site to assess ore reserves and mineral deposits.
• Perform core logging, drilling supervision, and grade control to ensure quality and accuracy of mineral extraction.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret geological and geochemical data to support mine planning and development.
• Provide inputs for short-term and long-term mine planning, including pit designs and production schedules.
• Monitor and evaluate ore body models, and update resource/reserve estimations as required.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and mining regulations, including reporting to the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) or other regulatory bodies.
• Support the processing plant team by providing mineralogical characteristics of ores for efficient beneficiation.
• Implement geological database management systems for accurate record keeping.
• Coordinate with environmental and safety teams for sustainable mining practices.
• Prepare and present geological reports, maps, and models to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors/Master's degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Sciences.
• Knowledge of mineral exploration, mining geology, and geotechnical practices.
• Familiarity with software tools such as Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, GIS, or similar for mine modeling.
• Strong analytical, observation, and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work in field conditions (open-pit/underground mines) and adapt to challenging environments.
• Knowledge of mining regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards.
• Good report-writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Skills -
