Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT department, including hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation of team members (e.g., developers, engineers, and IT support staff).
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems for our remittance applications, with a focus on PHP and other relevant technologies.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring seamless integration of fintech solutions for remittance services.
  • Manage project execution for fintech applications, including budgeting, timelines, and resource allocation to deliver high-quality results.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, data protection, and compliance with financial regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, or local remittance laws).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, operations, and finance) to identify technology needs and resolve issues in real-time.
  • Monitor and optimize IT infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, including cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Stay updated on emerging fintech trends and technologies, recommending innovations to enhance our remittance platform.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership on IT performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., IT Manager or Head of IT) in a fintech or financial services environment.
  • Proven experience in executing fintech application-related projects, such as developing and deploying secure remittance or payment systems.
  • Hands-on experience with backend development technologies, including PHP, and familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL), APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a similar environment, such as a fintech startup or established financial institution focused on remittance or digital payments.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello), and DevOps practices.

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide technical teams.
  • Expertise in fintech technologies, including secure transaction processing, blockchain (if applicable), and real-time data analytics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking to address IT challenges in a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to backend development (e.g., PHP, Laravel, ).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance in fintech.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • Experience in scaling IT operations for high-volume remittance platforms.
  • Familiarity with international remittance regulations and partnerships with financial institutions.
