Position objective:
The DGM Procurement will lead and manage end-to-end procurement operations for India, ensuring strong process discipline, system-driven workflows, strategic vendor management, quality adherence, and efficient planning. The role demands deep experience in the solar industry, strong commercial understanding, and the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop annual / month The DGM Procurement will lead and manage end-to-end procurement operations for India, ensuring strong process discipline, system-driven workflows, strategic vendor management, quality adherence, and efficient planning.
- The role demands deep experience in the solar industry, strong commercial understanding, and the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
- Why procurement plans aligned with business targets and project timelines.
- Drive cost optimization, standardization, and sourcing strategies for solar equipment, BOS items, and services.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for projects across India.
2. Process & Systems Management
- Own, improve, and enforce procurement processes and SOPs across the organization.
- Manage procurement systems (ERP/Google Workspace or internal tools) ensuring accuracy, documentation, and data integrity.
- Lead process automation initiatives to enhance visibility of PO tracking, invoice flows, vendor documentation, and COGS tracking.
3. Vendor Sourcing & Management
- Build and maintain a strong vendor network for solar modules, batteries, inverters, structures, cables, EPC services, logistics, and site-level vendors.
- Conduct vendor evaluation, onboarding, capability assessments, and performance audits.
- Ensure competitive sourcing through RFQ/RFP processes while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
4. Commercial, Contracts & Compliance
- Review and negotiate commercial terms, contracts, rate agreements, warranties, and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and import/export norms where applicable.
- Collaborate with finance for invoice reconciliation, payment terms, and cost accuracy.
5. Quality & Technical Adherence
- Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to ensure technical specifications, certifications, and testing standards are met.
- Ensure all procured materials comply with quality benchmarks and supplier quality processes.
6. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with project, engineering, finance, logistics, and leadership teams for seamless execution.
- Ensure clear communication and timely reporting of procurement status, risks, and mitigation plans.
7. Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement executives/specialists.
- Allocate responsibilities, build capabilities, and drive a high-performance culture.
Requirements:
- 7 to 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing roles in the solar or renewable energy sector (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of solar components (modules, inverters, batteries, BOS items) and vendor landscape.
- Proven experience in vendor management, procurement systems, planning, and documentation management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to build processes, enforce compliance, and drive operational excellence.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Workspace, ERP tools, and procurement software.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
- MBA in Supply Chain/Operations (added advantage).
