Role & responsibilities

Daily Inspection of plant from safety point of view (unsafe acts and unsafe

conditions)

A few examples of unsafe Act and Unsafe conditions are as under:

Unsafe Act:

1.1 Zinc dust charging without dust mask & Hand gloves and goggles.

1.2 Hazardous materials tanker unloading without apron, hand gloves, googles.

1.3 Using the staircase without holding the handrail.

1.4 Using Gas cylinder without caps.

1.5 Working on the shop floor without a helmet, safety shoes etc.

1.6 Working on the shop floor without a helmet, safety shoes etc.

1.7 Working in workshop for equipment maintenance without hand gloves and

goggles.

1.8 Welding /gas cutting without leather hand gloves, face shield etc.

Unsafe Conditions:

1.9 Ladder without railing.

1.10Gas cylinder without cap.

1.11 Rotary machine parts without guarding.

1.12Unattended spillage / leakage of hazard Chemicals.

1.13 Blocked approach to fire safety equipment.

1.14 Corroded cable trays.

  1. Co-ordinate for corrective actions wherever necessary with respective department. Report safety deviations observed at site on day-to-day basis.

  2. Conduct counselling session with shop-floor people for PPE compliance and keep records.

  3. Monitoring of work permits a) Working at height, b) Hot work, c) Vessel entry, d) Cold work, e) Excavation work etc. at site.

  4. Conduct / coordinate safety related training of staff and workmen on shopfloor and keep records.

  5. Support  for conducting mock-drill in the plant as per schedule.

  6. Assist in displaying safety posters, safe operating procedures, one-page MSDS, safety slogans etc. in prominent areas in the plant / at site for awareness.

  7. Prepare and submit - monthly consolidated report of your activities.

  8. Special assignments from time to time.

  9. Conduct Tool Box meeting on daily basis.
