The Panchakarma Therapist is responsible for performing traditional Ayurvedic therapies and treatments to promote physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. The therapist will work closely with clients to understand their needs, assess doshas (body constitutions), and deliver personalized Panchakarma treatments in accordance with Ayurvedic principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client consultations to assess health conditions, dosha imbalances, and wellness goals.
- Perform Panchakarma therapies, including but not limited to:
- Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage)
- Shirodhara (oil poured on forehead)
- Swedana (herbal steam therapy)
- Basti (medicated enema)
- Nasya (nasal therapy)
- Pizhichil (oil bath therapy)
- Ensure all treatments are carried out with high standards of hygiene, safety, and client comfort.
- Maintain treatment records and progress reports for each client.
- Educate clients on Ayurvedic practices, lifestyle modifications, and post-therapy care.
- Collaborate with other wellness professionals (Ayurvedic doctors, nutritionists, yoga instructors) to provide holistic care.
- Monitor inventory of oils, herbs, and other therapy materials, and coordinate with management for replenishment.
- Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in Ayurvedic therapy.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Panchakarma therapy, Ayurveda, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Panchakarma therapist or in Ayurvedic wellness.
- Deep knowledge of Ayurvedic principles, doshas, and herbal treatments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism, compassion, and attention to client safety and comfort.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for performing extended therapies.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of nutrition, yoga, and meditation practices.
- Experience working in wellness resorts, spas, or Ayurvedic clinics.
- Multilingual skills for diverse client interaction.
Working Conditions:
