Role and Responsibilities: As the GM of New Project Construction, you will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and finalizing construction projects for our esteemed clients. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and managing the entire project construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Collaborating with architects and designers to ensure design specifications and brand standards are met
  • Managing the permitting process and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations
  • Creating and managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • Monitoring construction progress, ensuring workmanship and materials meet quality standards
  • Selecting and managing contractors and vendors, overseeing their work and ensuring timely project completion
  • Regularly updating hotel management and stakeholders on project progress and any potential issues
  • Identifying and mitigating potential project risks to prevent delays and cost overruns
  • Handling changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively
  • Ensuring construction sites adhere to safety standards and regulations
  • Overseeing project completion and ensuring a smooth transition to hotel management
Candidate Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (master's degree is a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience as a construction project manager in the hotel industry or similar
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
