The Role

We are seeking a multi-faceted versatile Developer for a hands-on and varied engineering role. While this position includes opportunities to work on AI projects, the core of the job is centered on strong backend development, data engineering, and automation. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic problem-solver who is excited to tackle whatever challenge comes next, from building a data pipeline and developing a Flask API one day to implementing an AI-powered feature the next. You will report to the AI Architect and AI Lead Developer and be a crucial part of our development engine.

Core Responsibilities

• AI API Integration & Support: Actively use and integrate leading third-party AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic's Claude) for rapid application development and internal support.
• Backend & API Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs using Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask and GraphQL.
• Data Pipelines & Automation: Develop robust scripts for web extraction, process automation, and data transformation. Create and manage the data pipelines that fuel our applications.
• Database Management: Work extensively with various databases, including designing schemas, writing complex queries, and ensuring data integrity across MySQL, MSSQL, and MongoDB.
• Custom AI & Model Hosting: When required, take on projects involving the fine-tuning of pretrained models and deploying self-hosted open-source models for specific use cases.
• Code Quality & Collaboration: Uphold high standards for code quality by following PEP-8 guidelines and our internal project structure. Collaborate with the team to design and implement practical solutions.
• Full-Cycle Development: Take ownership of tasks from initial concept and research through to deployment, testing, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications (What You Bring)

• Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience as a Python Developer.
• Core Python & Backend Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, including object-oriented programming, and hands-on experience building web applications or APIs with frameworks like Flask.
• Database Proficiency: Mandatory, strong experience with both relational (MySQL, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Data Handling: Proven experience using Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and processing.
• Software Engineering Practices: Proficiency in version control with Git and experience with unit testing (e.g., pytest).
• A "Get-It-Done" Mindset: You must be a flexible, adaptable developer willing to learn new technologies and work on the most pressing business need, whether it's in AI, backend, or data automation.

Preferred Qualifications (Skills that set you apart)

• Open-Source Model Experience: Practical experience in deploying and managing self-hosted open-source models (e.g., from Hugging Face).
• Familiarity with AI Concepts: Exposure to the core concepts of Machine Learning and AI. Hands-on experience with Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow is a significant plus.
• Domain Exposure: An interest in or experience with NLP and LLMs.
• Cloud Adaptability: A working knowledge of one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and the ability to adapt to different cloud environments.
