We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Intern to join our team for a 6-month unpaid internship. This role is focused on business development initiatives for a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), including generating and managing direct selling agent (DSA) codes, expanding channel partnerships, and driving customer acquisition strategies. The intern will assist in building relationships with partners, supporting lead generation, and ensuring compliance with NBFC regulatory frameworks such as Fair Practices Code (FPC).

This internship provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial services industry, contribute to business growth, and learn the key aspects of NBFC operations.

Key Responsibilities

Generating and Managing DSA Codes:

  • Assist in generating Direct Selling Agent (DSA) codes to onboard new channel partners and agents.
  • Collaborate with potential partners to explain the DSA onboarding process and benefits.
  • Maintain a database of active DSAs, monitor their performance, and ensure proper utilization of codes.
  • Provide support to DSAs in resolving any issues related to their codes or customer acquisition processes.

Channel Partner Development:

  • Identify and onboard new channel partners, such as agents, brokers, and referral partners, to enhance business reach.
  • Build long-term relationships with partners and provide training on NBFC products and services.
  • Support partners in growing their customer base by offering marketing materials, tools, and guidance.

Customer Acquisition Strategy:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for lead generation and customer acquisition.
  • Explore new opportunities for increasing customer engagement and expanding the NBFCs market share.
  • Work with the marketing team to create campaigns for promoting financial products and services.

Compliance and Fair Practices Code (FPC):

  • Gain an understanding of NBFC compliance requirements, including the Fair Practices Code (FPC).
  • Ensure all business development activities align with NBFC regulatory standards.
  • Document and maintain compliance-related records related to DSAs and channel partnerships.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights and suggestions for improving business development strategies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and their implications for NBFC operations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed reports on DSA onboarding, channel partner performance, and customer acquisition progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of all business development activities, partnerships, and leads.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the business development team and senior management.

Requirements

  • Education:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic understanding of financial services and NBFC operations (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify business opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
