Job Description
You will be working within a dynamic and high-performing global legal team which is growing to keep pace with the fast-paced growth of Third Bridge. As Legal Counsel based in Dallas, you will be a trusted legal advisor to the business across the Americas, combining commercial contract expertise with regulatory compliance support and legal innovation - transforming legal from cost centre to growth enabler.

Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Commercial Contracting (Primary Focus - 60%)

  • Drafting, negotiating and approving agreements with clients across the Americas (including without limitation client agreements, addendums and order forms)
  • Managing vendor contracts (including without limitation service/staff procurement, marketing, NDAs, property leases and content distribution)
  • Developing contract playbooks and templates to enable self-service for routine matters
  • Supporting the commercial team with contract negotiations and providing rapid turnaround on deal support

Regulatory Compliance Support (15%)

  • Advising on financial services regulations, securities law, market abuse regulations and MNPI handling in the US context
  • Monitoring US regulatory developments and assessing business impact
  • Supporting Compliance colleagues with frameworks and processes
  • Assisting with regulatory filings and inquiries
  • Advising on US data privacy laws and regulations

Legal Advisory & Training (10%)

  • Efficiently responding to internal legal inquiries across commercial, regulatory, employment and governance matters
  • Providing integrated legal advice that balances risk with business opportunity
  • Providing legal training to commercial and HR teams on contract fundamentals, regulatory compliance requirements (MNPI, expert networks), and employment law basics
  • Creating decision trees and self-service guidance for routine legal matters
  • Conducting legal research and monitoring law updates relevant to US operations

Legal Innovation & Process Improvement (15%)

  • Proactively seeking ways to mitigate risks and improve efficiencies
  • Working to implement technology and AI solutions across the legal team (including contract lifecycle management, AI-powered contract review, and compliance monitoring tools)
  • Identifying and implementing processes to streamline approvals and accelerate business velocity
  • Working collaboratively with commercial, compliance, HR and finance teams
  • Supporting the Global Head of Legal on strategic legal projects, policy development, and process improvements

Qualifications
Required:

  • JD from an accredited US law school
  • Active bar admission in Texas or another US state (or ability to obtain Texas bar admission)
  • 3-5 years PQE with commercial contract experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Regulatory compliance experience or strong interest in financial services, securities law, or expert network regulations - understanding of market abuse, MNPI, and compliance frameworks highly desirable

Desirable:
In-house legal experience

Experience with expert network, financial services, or information services businesses

Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional legal issues (UK, APAC especially China)

Experience with legal technology implementation

Additional Language Skills (Spanish a Plus)
Corporate governance or M&A experience

  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable making decisions independently, combined with strong commercial awareness and good business judgment to also know when to escalate issues
  • Knowledge of IP and data protection laws
  • Technology enthusiasm and process improvement mindset - eager to leverage legal tech, AI solutions and automation
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Desire to be challenged and to work independently on complex and time-sensitive projects
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and sees challenges as learning opportunities
