Role & responsibilities
- P&L Ownership Manage full profit & loss accountability with a focus on cost optimization, revenue growth, and sustainable profitability.
- Techno-Commercial Strategy – Formulate and execute strategies combining technical insights with commercial decision-making for competitive advantage.
- Total Quality Management (TQM) – Establish quality systems and processes that ensure product excellence, efficiency, and compliance with global standards.
- Supply Chain Management (SCM) – Lead procurement, vendor management, and logistics with a techno-commercial approach to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery.
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – Drive plant and machinery efficiency, preventive maintenance, and productivity enhancement.
- Lean Engineering & Process Innovation – Promote lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices to reduce waste and improve operational performance.
- Technology & Digital Transformation – Adopt Industry 4.0, automation, and data-driven decision-making to enhance competitiveness.
- Market Development & Commercial Leadership – Identify new markets, negotiate techno-commercial deals, and build long-term partnerships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- People & Leadership Development – Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team, ensuring a culture of accountability, safety, and innovation.
- Governance & Sustainability – Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and corporate governance standards, while driving ESG initiatives.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field. MBA/PGDM in Operations/Strategy/General Management preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in the Iron & Steel or Heavy Manufacturing sector, with at least 8–10 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record of managing P&L responsibilities with strong techno-commercial decision-making skills.
- Expertise in TQM, SCM, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Re-engineering.
- Strong business acumen with ability to negotiate and close high-value techno-commercial deals.
- Tech-savvy leader with knowledge of automation, Industry 4.0, and digital tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
