Enclosure Draftsman

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and prepare 2D/3D drawings for sheet metal enclosures, brackets, tanks, plates, handles, and packaging solutions
• Develop standardized and interchangeable child parts to reduce BOM complexity and improve manufacturability
• Support prototype building, validation, and vendor discussions for fabrication feasibility
• Maintain drawing revisions and documentation as per company standards
• Ensure designs are aligned with international compliance and export standards (BIS/CE/Australian)
• Collaborate with the assembly and production team for manufacturability improvements
• Transition gradually from MS/SS designs to plastic enclosures (injection molding, 3D printing, vacuum forming)

Required Skills

• SolidWorks (Sheet Metal), AutoCAD/Draftsight
• Knowledge of GD&T, fabrication processes, and tolerances
• Basic understanding of plastic part design and moldability
• Strong drafting/documentation discipline

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B. Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering
• 2-4 years of experience in sheet metal / plastic product design KPIsAccuracy and quality of drawings
• Reduction in unique child parts across designs
• Timely release of drawings and revisions
• Contribution to plastic design transition
• Career Path Draftsman Design Engineer (Plastic Enclosures / Mechanical R&D)
